Job Title: Staff Accountant
General Description:
G1 Partners, LLC (“G1”) is a tight-knit boutique office servicing approximately fifteen highly sophisticated, successful families. We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our team in the role of Staff Accountant. Qualified candidates should have a passion for delivering high quality service with a professional and friendly demeanor. The Staff Accountant will play an instrumental role in providing accounting, financial, and tax support to our families, with whom we have close and collaborative relationships, and for whom we serve as their trusted fiduciary. This position will interact with all members of the G1 team, with outside professionals who serve our clients, and directly with our clients.
As the Staff Accountant, you will be a strategic member and contributor in implementing and growing our Accounting Services offering.

G1 is a private, multi-family office specializing in providing financial planning and family office services to ultra-high net worth families located throughout the United States. Located in Park Ridge, IL, a north suburb of Chicago and two blocks from the Park Ridge Metra-Line train station.
G1, formerly known as Astraeus Advisers, LLC was originally founded in 2008 and currently has a staff of seventeen professionals. G1 is currently looking for a motivated individual to fill this position immediately.
Roles and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to support our accounting operations. This role is ideal for an early-career accounting professional who is eager to gain hands-on experience with financial records, reconciliations, and accounting systems.
• Perform general ledger accounting functions including:
Process and record transactions into the general ledger accounting systems (QuickBooks Ledger and SumIt)
Conduct monthly reconciliation to custodian data/alternative investment data/accounting period close
Conduct annual reconciliation to 1099's/K-1's for use in tax reporting
• Assist with onboarding of client relationships onto new accounting platforms (SumIt and QuickBooks Ledger):
Conversion of existing data from outside accounting firm
Set up entities not currently on a general ledger system (i.e., reporting currently being done in Excel)
• Preparation and analysis of financial statements/financial reporting for clients operating a family office structure in support of tax compliance:
Core financial statements
Profits interest calculation oversight
• Tax Compliance
Work in coordination with our internal Tax Specialist, providing accounting reports (e.g., Trial Balance, Balance Sheets) required for the compilation of tax data provided to outside CPA firms.
• Year-end Compliance – assist with preparation and filing of 1099’s
• Assist Director of Accounting with development and implementation of controls, policies, and procedures for the Family Office Accounting group.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities
• Maintain and update the general ledger using QuickBooks Ledger and SumIt, ensuring accuracy and proper documentation
• Perform monthly reconciliations of brokerage statements, identifying and resolving discrepancies
• Assist with annual reconciliation of 1099s and K-1s
• Support the implementation of new accounting software, including data migration, testing, and process documentation
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities as needed
• Organize and maintain financial records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Requirements/Characteristics:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 3 plus years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
• Familiarity with QuickBooks or similar accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other standard office tools
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Experience with brokerage accounts or investment-related reconciliations
• Interest in accounting systems and process improvement
• Family Office Experience a plus
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn
• QuickBooks Ledger, Bill.com, SumIt, and Addepar knowledge a plus
• Candidate must be able to provide 3 references and agree to a full background check.
