| Position Description |
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Wok Chef to join our team. The Wok Chef will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of authentic Thai dishes using traditional wok techniques. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Thai cuisine, excellent cooking skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Prepare and cook a wide range of Thai dishes, including stir-fries, fried rice and noodle dishes, using a wok.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared according to recipes and restaurant standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Handle and store ingredients properly, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to coordinate food preparation and ensure timely service.
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate with the kitchen manager to ensure adequate supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work station, following all health and safety regulations.
- Adapt to guest preferences and dietary restrictions, ensuring all special requests are met.
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a Wok Chef or in a similar role within a Thai or Chinese restaurant.
- Extensive knowledge of Thai cuisine and traditional cooking techniques.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
**Physical Requirements:**
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Proficiency in handling kitchen equipment and tools.
