Georgia Organizing Manager

Position Description

Job Summary:
As a Field Organizing Manager at Vot-ER, you will lead volunteer teams of health professionals to play a critical role in driving civic engagement and voter access. Your primary responsibility will be to craft, manage, and execute on a region-wide strategy that brings in new health professionals and partners into Vot-ER, plugs them into existing Vot-ER programs, and mobilizes them to support their community with civic engagement. You will also directly manage interns and a team of dedicated volunteers. Through your efforts and through collaboration from top to bottom across every department at Vot-ER, you will contribute to the creation of healthier communities powered by an inclusive democracy.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and guidance to a team of healthcare professionals within Georgia and occasionally in other states.
Develop and execute a comprehensive regional strategy to increase civic engagement and voter access, aligned with Vot-ER's mission and goals.
Lead the process of recruiting and growing a cohort of health professionals in Georgia to execute on the strategy.
Manage teams of health professionals and health professional students, both in Georgia and occasionally in other states.
Provide guidance, support, and regular feedback to health professionals and their teams to help them reach voters, both individually and as part of Vot-ER programming such as the Civic Health Fellowship, Healthy Democracy Campaign, Community Civic Engagement Program, and Civic Health Month.
Lead the regular intake calls for new health professionals involved in Vot-ER’s work, including training them on key skills such as voting conversations and securing organizational buy-in.
Organize and lead additional outreach initiatives, including presentations, workshops, and training sessions to educate and mobilize target audiences.
Be a part of the potential research and interviewing process for future potential interns.
Establish and nurture relationships with healthcare institutions, student organizations, and community stakeholders, fostering collaborations and partnerships.
Utilize various channels, such as text messaging, social media, online platforms, and professional networks, to promote and recruit for Vot-ER programs.
Collaborate with the internal team to share best practices, provide input on program development, and contribute to organizational growth.
Stay informed about voting rights legislation, healthcare policies, and related issues.
Lead and participate in phonebank and textbank events and efforts at Vot-ER.


Required Skills/Abilities:

Community Organizing: Expertise in strategic campaigns, training strategy development, and team growth. Knowledge of voter registration processes and familiarity with healthcare systems is highly desirable.
Communication/Collaboration: Exceptional verbal/written communication, rapport-building, and teamwork.
Leadership/Management: Strong guidance, mentorship, resource management, and training implementation.
Adaptability/Flexibility: Thriving in fast-paced environments, adapting strategies, and embracing innovation.
Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with remote organizing tools, creative technology application for training.
Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and inclusion.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments, levels, and stakeholders to gain trust and give respect to others through honesty, integrity, kindness, empathy, and authenticity.
Acute attention to detail and demonstrated ability to prioritize time to meet deadlines for multiple projects.
Drive to seek what can be improved and offer ways to fix any potential roadblocks.
Comfort admitting what you don’t know and recognizing that feedback is part of the learning process.

Education and Experience:
Minimum Associates degree, Bachelor's degree preferred.
At least two years of related experience either volunteer or paid campaign experience.

Preferred: Experience with health or civic engagement related projects or research and the ability to speak or read in Spanish.

Compensation Range: $50,000 - $53,000 depending on experience

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting or standing at a desk and working at a computer.
Ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.


Other Requirements:
Ability to travel to sites to meet with partners, institutions, and providers/individuals weekly.
Participate in Vot-ER wide retreats and gatherings a minimum of twice per year.

This is a remote, full-time role. Vot-ER offers a flexible, remote work environment. We have core working hours of 12 pm to 5 pm eastern time, Monday through Friday. During those hours, all employees are expected to be available for meetings and collaboration. Outside of those core hours, each employee sets their own schedule, while recognizing that due to the collaborative nature of the Vot-ER work and mission, employees will often arrange meetings outside of core Vot-ER hours.
