The United States Steel Corporation, located at Granite City, IL is currently has the following opportunity:
Security & Fire Officer – Granite City, IL (10454BR)
U. S. Steel in Granite City, IL is seeking a Security and Fire Officer. This position requires you to respond to and patrol the Granite City Works facility, respond to emergency incident scenes using procedures which require you to operate fire apparatus and equipment.
This job is within a heavy industrial environment and will be required to work within various areas of the Granite City Works facility.
Job Responsibilities:
• Firefighter duties to include operation of all fire apparatus and equipment
• Security duties and responsibilities
• Work in hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet and noisy environments
• Rotating shift work (some Saturdays and Sundays)
• Must be able to maintain all certifications necessary to provide protection of the company’s employees and assets such as basic emergency medical services, firefighting and hazardous materials response.
Requirements:
• High School Diploma or GED and a valid driver’s license required
• State or National Licensed basic EMT
• Certified Firefighter I or equivalent
• Ability to conduct investigations and document facts in a report format
